Rara Lake

Rara lake is the biggest lake of Nepal located in Mugu district of Mid-Western Nepal. Due to its remoteness it does not receive huge number of tourists and therefore the area is not yet commercialized and is very good for those to visit who are seeking to explore unpolluted nature. It is very popular among the domestic tourists and the area is very rish in biodiversity since it is located inside Rara National Park.  Located in western Nepal, the around Rara is popular for Trekking among the tourists. This area is enriched in biodiversity and the lake resides in the altitude of around 2990 meters. It is a real paradise in the earth.

The lake is located in an altitude of 2,990 meters and is 167 meters in depth. The surface area is approximately 8 square kilometers.

How to get there: 
You can fly to Talcha airport in Mugu and start hiking towards the lake which will take around 2-3 hours through Rara National Park.

You can take a Jeep ride to Talcha and start hiking from there. Or else you can hike there from Jumla or Kalikot which will take around one day.
